The Boston Bruins are a National Hockey League (NHL) team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are the oldest NHL team in the United States, having been founded in 1924. The Bruins have had a rich history of success, and have won the Stanley Cup six times since their founding.

In their inaugural season in 1924-25, the Bruins captured their first Stanley Cup championship. Led by stars such as Frank Brimsek and Bill Cowley, the Bruins were deemed “The Flying Frenchmen” thanks to their fast skating style of play.

Throughout the decades that followed, Boston was a consistent contender for the Stanley Cup, even through World War II when they won three championships between 1939 and 1945. After going more than 20 years without making an appearance in the Finals, Bobby Orr helped lead them to two consecutive titles in 1970 and 1972.

In 1988-89, Ray Bourque captained the Bruins to another Stanley Cup Final before falling to Wayne Gretzky’s Edmonton Oilers in seven games.

The Boston Bruins remain one of hockey’s premier franchises due to their passionate fanbase and consistent production on ice. They boast some of hockey’s most iconic alumni such as Orr, Bourque, Phil Esposito and Cam Neely who are all enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
